Ernesto, Anniversary & Backyard
ERNESTO
Well, this week we got off easy as far as Hurricane/Tropical Storm Ernesto is concerned. The eye went east of I-95 and we got more wind and rain from a thunderstorm on Wednesday than from Ernesto. The mail must go through, but Time-Warner Cable didn't fare so well. Why do people have to drive through deep water?? Aren't boats intended for that?
ANNIVERSARY
On Wednesday, Angie and I celebrated our 49th wedding anniversary by having lunch together at the Pinecrest Inn & Restaurant in Pinehurst.

It was a nice place and we enjoyed it. All of the water occurred when we went shopping afterwards. The storm knocked out all of the credit card machines so we came home.
BACKYARD
The butterflies in our yard are as thick as flies. One of the reasons are the beautiful Lantanas that we see from our patio. We eat lunch there every day now that it has cooled off.
As I was clearing the fallen pine straw, I found a Pine Woods Tree Frog that I had not noticed before. Our North Carolina Wildlife Magazine came this week. It had a picture of one in the inside cover. That made me a little more alert to it's presence here.
